<p>There are three principles of military strategy you can apply to your work every single day. The first idea from the military is called the Principle of Maneuver. The principle of maneuver says that you should be clear about the goal, but be flexible about the process of achieving it. According to the Menninger Institute, this quality of flexibility is the most important single quality that you will require for success in times of rap id change.</p>
<p><span style="color: #800000;">Be Open to Continuous Feedback</span></p>
<p>A key peak performance quality for you is to “accept feedback and self-correct.” Peak performers are those who can take information from their environment and even if the information is contrary to all of their planning, they can accept the information, modify their plans, and continue moving forward. They are always open to new ideas and insights.</p>
<p><span style="color: #800000;">Learn What You Need to Know</span></p>
<p>The second military principle you can use is the Principle of Intelligence. This principle of intelligence means simply, “Get the facts!”</p>
<p>The most important thing in business decision making is for you to get accurate information. Facts don’t lie. It is important that you get the real facts, not the assumed facts or the apparent facts or the obvious facts, or the hoped for facts, but the real, provable facts.</p>
<p><span style="color: #800000;">Make Better Decisions</span></p>
<p>Perhaps the key job of the executive is decision making. The quality of the decisions that you make will be in direct proportion to the amount of time that you take to gather timely and accurate information. The very best thing that you can do, if you have insufficient information, is to delay making a decision at all.</p>
<p><span style="color: #800000;">Invest Your Resources Wisely</span></p>
<p>The third military principle applied to strategic planning is the Principle of Economy of Force. Economy of force means that you expend only the resources necessary to achieve the objective and not more. It also means that you commit sufficient resources to achieve the objective once you have decided upon it.</p>
<p>Since your own personal energy is all you really have to invest over the course of your lifetime, the military principle of economy says that you should be very selfish when deciding how you are going to use yourself. Keep asking yourself, “How important is this?” and more important, “How important is this to me?”</p>
<p><span style="color: #800000;">Action Exercises</span></p>
<p>Here are two ideas that you can apply immediately to be more strategic in your work and personal life.</p>
<p>First, remain flexible when you are working towards your goal. In times of rapid change, all of your best ideas can be contradicted by new information. Be willing to try different things. Be open to new inputs and ideas.</p>
<p>Second, get the facts! The more and better information you can acquire before you make a decision, the better your decision will be. The very best managers spend a good amount of time getting the real, provable facts before they take action.</p>

<p>• An old auto parts store<br />
• One customer<br />
• And a very determined 9-year-old with a great idea</p>
<p>At least this is what happened to young Caine Monroy, who hand-built his cardboard arcade –<a href="http://cainesarcade.com/" rel="nofollow">Caine’s Arcade</a> – in his father’s auto parts store.</p>
<p>His story may not be a traditional inspirational tale of entrepreneurial success, but if it is not a testament to the power of passion, creativity and determination, I don’t know what is.</p>
<p>It is also the kind of story that leaves you without any excuses of why YOU can not follow YOUR dreams.<br />

<p>Individuals don’t just like to hand out their email addresses online (and with good reason today!) But if you offer them something in return, such as an enlightening newsletter, a free eBook, a forum membership or free software, they&#8217;ll be much more likely to give you their email address when subscribing.</p>
<p>However, do you know why most internet marketers have a tendency to fail? It&#8217;s because they bank on their name list a bit much. If I were you, the 1st thing I would do is to get rid of that list of phone numbers you are currently holding on to.</p>
<p>Here’s why &#8211; your name list will sooner or later poop out.</p>
<h3 style="text-align: left;"><span style="color: #ff0000;">Stop repeating mistakes!</span></h3>
<p>The definition of insanity is &#8211; doing the same thing over and over while expecting different results (this phrase is ironically echoed again and again in internet marketing circles!)</p>
<p>There are a lot of ways to generate new targeted leads on the Net.</p>
<p>You don&#8217;t need to meet strangers in a party or collect call cards in supermarkets because it&#8217;s a very slow and time devouring way to seek targeted leads for your internet marketing business.</p>
<p>Studies show that the number one issue facing small business owners today is not having enough qualified prospects. Every small business owner would like to have more high-quality candidates, but most either don’t have the time, or just don&#8217;t have the expertise!</p>
<p>In any given industry, there are an infinite number of potential lead sources that can be used to supply your business with highly-qualified sales leads. A few are very simple and inexpensive to set-up, others are more intricate. Some will give you a trickle of leads, others will produce a flood.</p>
<p>Do you recognize why Google is making so much money? It&#8217;s because they deliver the most relevant results for the individuals punching in the keywords.</p>
<p>Individuals pay Google good money as they bring the most relevant, most targeted paying leads for their business needs.</p>
<p>It proves one thing &#8211; tapping into the power of Google is just one of the ways of constructing a good lead generation system, bringing in the best leads and prospects for your internet marketing business.</p>
<p>The day you stop acquiring new leads, your entire business will come to a grating halt &#8211; so by establishing a good lead generation system on autopilot, your business will grow by itself, long after you&#8217;ve stopped working on it directly!</p>

<p>A common pitfall I see with internet marketers when it comes to their internet strategy is that they aren’t truly looking at their target audience when they compose the content for their site.</p>
<p>Rather, they compose boring content that&#8217;s centered on them – who they are, how you are able to find them, why they&#8217;re significant, etc. Not only is that subject matter boring, it will not pull in the intended visitors and won’t be pulling in free traffic from the search engines.</p>
